Patient Access Representative (SEIU), Full-Time, Evening Shift
About the role
Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. Locals enjoy weekly farmers markets in downtown Templeton, farm-to-fork dining, beautiful landscapes for hiking and biking, and beach days just fifteen minutes away at Cambria and Morro Bay.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for timely and accurate patient registration.
- Interviews patients for all pertinent account information.
- Verifies all insurance and calculates and collects patient liability amounts.
- Ensures that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment.
- Answers any questions and explains policies clearly.
- Checks for physician orders and attaches them to appropriate patient record to ensure correct test is received.
- Prints and collates any paperwork needed for each patient to for distribution to unit/department.
- Escorts patients to his/her area or refers patient to available escort as needed.
Requirements
- Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Essential Functions: Check for physician orders and attaches them to patient medical record to ensure that patients are receiving appropriate tests.

Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
