TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT SPECIALIST
About the role
Douglass Schools USD 396 is looking for a Technology Support Specialist to join our team! This is a full-time, 12-month position working Monday–Friday and is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on technology support and wants to make a difference in a school environment.
What You'll Do
As a Technology Support Specialist, you'll provide day-to-day technology support to staff and students throughout the district, including:
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, and computer-related issues
- Setting up, installing, maintaining, and repairing computers and peripheral equipment
- Supporting laptops, computer labs, projectors, clickers, and audiovisual equipment
- Assisting with laptop deployment, check-in, re-imaging, cleaning, labeling, and equipment moves
- Maintaining accurate technology and software inventories
- Providing on-site, phone, and email technical support
- Assisting with wireless access point and cabling installations
- Helping staff and students with peripheral devices and technology setup
- Researching software upgrades and assisting with approved installations
- Visiting with staff to identify technology needs and provide ongoing support and training
- Assisting with computerized assessment testing and other district technology needs
- Working collaboratively with the District Technology Director and school staff
Requirements
- High school diploma
- One to two years of experience or training using computers and technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Technology-related certifications
- Experience troubleshooting computers and peripheral devices
- Experience with audiovisual equipment
- Experience working with software applications and technology in a school or organizational setting
