Technician III - Shop ($7,500 Sign-on Bonus)

About the role

Sunstate Equipment Co. offers a Technician III-Shop position with a $7,500 sign-on bonus. Immediate hiring is available. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine service on equipment, including checking fluid levels, changing fluids, and lubricating.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment to ensure it meets manufacturer specifications.
• Perform novice level welding repairs using MIG and SMAW techniques.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment, including warranty records.
• Support the team to achieve goals and be a self-starter.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3+ years' experience as a diesel mechanic, with a construction equipment rental background preferred.
• Intermediate troubleshooting and diagnosing skills with electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines, including Tier 4 and aftertreatment systems.
• Experience performing major and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive trains.
• Necessary tools worth an average of $5,000+ in value.

Qualifications

Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Texas Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Skills

• Intermediate troubleshooting and diagnosing skills with electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines, including Tier 4 and aftertreatment systems.
• Ability to perform major and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive trains.
• Intermediate welding skills (MIG & SMAW).
• Strong record-keeping and organizational skills.

Pay

Pay range dependent on experience and quarterly branch performance bonus.
