About the Role

As an employee of Boehringer Ingelheim, you will actively contribute to the discovery, development, and delivery of our products to our patients and customers. The main purpose of this role is to assist in all tasks in Media associated with the production of Marek's poultry vaccine and master these tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Fully trained and able to work independently in the Media area in the production of Marek's disease vaccine, including:
    • Performing all processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
    • Utilizing sterile technique at all times
    • Working under laminar flow hoods and in a HEPA filtered environment
    • Communicating any occurrences to team leader and/or supervisor immediately
    • Keeping the lab area clean and sterile, ensuring activities are completed accurately and timely
    • Working cooperatively with mentor in training, prioritizing training for optimal performance
    • Maintaining accurate and timely manufacturing records, including paperwork and files
    • Promoting safety and awareness in the lab, adhering to safety practices
  • Adhering to the Avian Biosecurity Policy, including avoiding contact with avian species and taking necessary precautions if contact occurs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related field or 2-4 years of Marek's lab experience
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and carry it 10 ft
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in a sterile production environment
  • Flexibility with availability, including weekend work
  • Regular attendance is required
