Position Summary
The Technician is responsible for remanufacturing diesel engine fuel injection components to ensure high-quality parts and timely service that exceeds customer expectations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Deeply familiarize yourself with various diesel engine fuel injection pumps and fuel injector components.
- Perform tasks such as cleaning, disassembly, assembly, calibration, and diagnosis of pump issues.
- Use mechanical and small power tools as necessary.
- Clean incoming fuel injection components using parts washers and stationary buffing wheels.
- Utilize measuring equipment like micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
- Operate computer systems and software to control testing processes and record data.
- Accurately input computer data.
- Consistently wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Show meticulous attention to detail.
- Provide excellent customer service promptly.
- Communicate with the Branch or Shop Manager about any challenges encountered.
- Meet deadlines and promptly inform the Branch Manager of any anticipated delays.
- Identify non-routine issues and communicate them to the Branch or Shop Manager.
- Be proactive in learning and complying with company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Contribute positively to a team environment and make suggestions for improving team morale.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in production, assembly, or a technical field preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude, including the ability to safely use hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and small power tools.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, work procedures, and safety guidelines in a shop or manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter data accurately and operate testing equipment controlled by computer systems.
- Read and interpret technical documents, diagrams, or work instructions related to mechanical components.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screening.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work in a shop environment, including standing for extended periods, lifting components, and exposure to noise, odors, chemicals, and mechanical equipment while using required PPE.
- Lift, move, and carry objects up to 50 pounds; occasionally team lift and move up to 70 pounds.
