About the role

The School Bus Yard Operations Technician I position is responsible for maintaining and operating school buses in a safe and efficient manner. This includes preparing buses for service, performing routine maintenance checks, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare buses for service by cleaning and inspecting vehicles
• Perform routine maintenance checks on buses, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and electrical systems
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed during bus operations
• Handle emergency situations as they arise, following established procedures
• Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• At least 2 years of related work experience in a similar field
• Knowledge of school bus operation and safety standards

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Good physical condition and ability to stand for long periods
