About the role

The Technician I position involves driving to customer sites, setting up and operating environmental equipment under proper work permits, taking environmental readings, ensuring equipment calibration and maintenance, performing valve manipulation, and completing various tasks as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Drive to customer sites, set up and operate environmental equipment under proper work permits.
  • Take environmental readings frequently with the use of multiple types of environmental monitoring meters.
  • Ensure environmental meters are calibrated and bump tested in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on various equipment, as well as improve aesthetics on vehicles and equipment on the field and at the shop.
  • Perform valve manipulation as well as moving of hoses, fittings, and various other items.
  • Report to the assigned Supervisor and provide status reports.
  • Participate in hands meetings, JSS SCAN procedures, and safety communications.
  • Operate and drive all vehicles within the scope of licensing, logging appropriately in the Electronic Logging Device (Samsara).
  • Carry out all assigned daily work.
  • Complete required timesheets, log sheets, and customer work permits as required by the task at hand.
  • Review and understand the selection of proper equipment for the task at hand.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Industry experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • The ability to understand basic math skills, read and interpret technical documents, read and understand procedures, perform all assigned duties, and follow all safety procedures and requirements.
  • The ability to understand and apply regulatory requirements impacting both Envent and Envent's customer.
  • The ability to learn and utilize latest approved procedures for all operations.
  • The ability to interact professionally and competently with widely variable internal customers and regulatory agency personnel.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of a 24/7 operation.
  • The ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walk to multiple locations throughout the day.
  • The ability to work across business units and navigate organizational structures to achieve consistent and full compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations and company policies.
  • The ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, programs like Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • The ability to understand and use all site-specific, facility, and customer-required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
  • The ability to pass all site-specific facility, company, and industry tests.
  • The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • The ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • The ability to be prompt and courteous.
  • The ability to be persistent, patient, creative, and flexible.
  • The ability to maintain a high energy level.
  • The ability and willingness to learn.
  • The ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • The ability to assemble information from a variety of sources.

Work Environment

  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
  • Primarily field work.
  • Exposure to various outdoor weather conditions.
  • Exposure to potentially hazardous situations in industrial plants.
  • Exposure to extreme heights and moving mechanical parts.
  • Travel is required 20-70% depending on job needs and geographic location.
