About the role

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and involves operating and maintaining HVAC systems for a large capacity processing facility.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Operate and maintain HVAC systems for large capacity processing facility, including boilers, furnaces, and Freon refrigeration systems, along with compressors, condensers, air dehumidification and ventilation systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and corrective work as needed on the Facilities HVAC systems
• Document all maintenance and inspection activities in accordance with the EMAINT and Compliance programs
• Comply with, and monitor operations for compliance within specified safety, food safety, and regulatory guidelines
• Work in a safe manner consistent with all Company rules and excellent work practices
• Plumbing

Qualifications

Education/Experience: High School diploma or its equivalency. Minimum of three years' experience operating large refrigeration and HVAC systems.

• Ability to withstand walking, lifting, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, walking on roofs, and working in confined spaces
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift more than fifty pounds
• Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and technical specifications
• Ability to read and understand complex regulatory requirements
• Ability to conform to all OSHA, PSM, HAZMAT, and Monogram EHS programs and regulations
• Ability to learn and understand Emergency Response requirements
• Ability to demonstrate excellent work habits in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Ability to demonstrate safe working habits

Preferred experience

• 3-5 years of HVAC experience (large plant)
• Knowledge of refrigeration engineering units
• Boiler operator certification
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
