About the role
This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and involves operating and maintaining HVAC systems for a large capacity processing facility.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Operate and maintain HVAC systems for large capacity processing facility, including boilers, furnaces, and Freon refrigeration systems, along with compressors, condensers, air dehumidification and ventilation systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and corrective work as needed on the Facilities HVAC systems
- Document all maintenance and inspection activities in accordance with the EMAINT and Compliance programs
- Comply with, and monitor operations for compliance within specified safety, food safety, and regulatory guidelines
- Work in a safe manner consistent with all Company rules and excellent work practices

Qualifications
Education/Experience: High School diploma or its equivalency. Minimum of three years' experience operating large refrigeration and HVAC systems.

Physical and environmental requirements
- Ability to withstand walking, lifting, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, walking on roofs, and working in confined spaces
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift more than fifty pounds
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and technical specifications
- Ability to read and understand complex regulatory requirements
- Ability to conform to all OSHA, PSM, HAZMAT, and Monogram EHS programs and regulations
- Ability to learn and understand Emergency Response requirements
- Ability to demonstrate excellent work habits in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Ability to demonstrate safe working habits
- Ability to work in a demanding environment
- Ability to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
- Ability to work efficiently with little or no supervision
- Ability to read, write and perform basic math

- Must be 18 years or older
Preferred experience
- 3-5 years of HVAC experience (large plant)
- Knowledge of refrigeration engineering units
- Boiler operator certification
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
