About the role

The BA Technical Writer will develop Requests for Proposals (RFPs) using the organization's standard template for at least five procurement projects. This role involves collaborating with project teams, subject matter experts, and leadership to gather requirements, document business needs, and produce complete, compliant RFPs.

Responsibilities

  • Write RFPs using the organization's standard template for multiple procurement projects.
  • Attend and facilitate meetings to gather missing information and language required for RFP development.
  • Develop RFPs that include scope of work, technical requirements, staffing, deliverables, and other required sections.
  • Review and document business needs within each RFP.
  • Identify mandatory requirements, page limits, formatting rules, and scoring criteria.
  • Gather information from subject matter experts, past proposals, and leadership to ensure complete and accurate RFPs.
  • Assist management in obtaining responses needed for compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with leadership to create and update RFPs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of technical writing experience developing structured written materials and visual aids.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, with experience using templates and style guidelines for branding consistency.
  • Ability to interact effectively with project team members, management, and departments.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure all requirements are included in RFPs.
  • Experience with state agency procurements.
  • Experience using SharePoint and project management tools, including Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project, Word, Access, and Excel.
  • Ability to create and document key project management requirements.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with people and organizations.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-profile, high-priority projects simultaneously.
  • Strong proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous public sector work experience.
  • Experience with Medicaid or other healthcare claims systems IT projects.
