GMRE is seeking a Technical Writer to support the Engineering Team at GMRE HQ in South Ogden, UT. The role involves planning, creating, editing, and authoring Technical Orders, Manuals, and Publications for DoD customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and revise Technical Orders (TOs), Technical Manuals, and Time Compliance Technical Orders
- Coordinate with engineers, logisticians, and subject matter experts to generate technical instructions for new systems
- Incorporate engineering changes and verify technical accuracy
- Produce publication packages in accordance with Air Force and DoD standards
- Participate in technical reviews and quality assurance
- Support configuration management and quality reviews
Requirements
- 5+ years of related experience
- Background in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical documentation and/or hands-on experience in an aerospace maintenance field
- Experience with military technical manuals or Technical Orders
- Proven experience with S1000D, SGML or XML authoring software, ArborText, Illustrator, and technical publications development processes within an Interactive Technical Manual (IETM) environment
- Must be able to obtain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation
- Valid driver’s license (driving or renting a car for company business is expected)
