Technical Training Coordinator

About the role
The Training Coordinator will join our team in Itasca, IL, supporting onboarding, training, and development initiatives to enhance performance and compliance within the laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the onboarding of new employees and provide initial training to ensure a positive new hire experience
- Deliver ongoing group and individualized training for performance enhancement and general education
- Train employees on company and department policies, procedures, competencies, and Lab Information Systems
- Develop and implement resources and programs to meet training objectives
- Evaluate and update existing training materials and plans
- Serve as a procedural and compliance resource for department employees
- Support leadership with quality and service metrics goals
- Assist in creating improvement plans for underperforming employees
- Maintain accurate logs and records for all trainings conducted
- Provide training with professionalism and respect
- Assist with workflow during high-volume periods or when coverage is needed
- Travel to client sites and other branches to assist in training
- Research industry-related information as necessary
- Perform additional administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- 1 year or more of experience as a Technologist
- Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures
- Experience working in a high-volume laboratory environment
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
- Flexibility to travel throughout the territory for training purposes
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems
- High level of attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
Qualifications
- In lieu of the education requirements listed, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may be accepted
- ASCP and/or AMT Certifications (preferred)
- 6 months or more of prior supervisory or leadership experience (preferred)
Pay
$27.00 - $34.00 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only. Employees working a 7 on/7 off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.
