About the Role

At Stadler, we don't just build state-of-the-art passenger trains — we build futures. We are seeking a dedicated Technical Trainer (Vocational Trainer) to lead our exclusive youth manufacturing apprenticeship program. In this role, you will serve as the primary educator, mentor, and program owner for high school students completing a dual-education pathway. You will balance hands-on technical instruction, shop-floor safety, and curriculum coordination — guiding young learners as they transition from the classroom to building real-world passenger trains that will serve communities across North America.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and continuous improvement of the Stadler US Inc. Apprenticeship program, owning departmental outcomes and results
  • Manage program budget, technical resources, and personnel decisions
  • Conduct regular performance assessments in partnership with mentors and trainers
  • Develop, document, and update the training curriculum and implementation plan for the apprenticeship program
  • Deliver hands-on instruction on tools, equipment, technology, and techniques required for the job
  • Prepare apprentices for rotational assignments in internal departments
  • Organize and administer apprentice rotations within the designated department
  • Support apprentice recruiting, including job shadow coordination and administration of aptitude assessments
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across departments to ensure strong outcomes for apprentices and receiving teams

Requirements

  • AA or AS degree in Education, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in technical instruction, youth education, career and technical education (CTE), workforce development, or technical training within an industrial, manufacturing, or trade environment
  • Exceptional ability to coach, mentor, and engage high school-aged learners, with strong interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholders (students, parents, school administrators, and shop-floor leads)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written, with excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Budgeting experience preferred
