Technical Sales Engineer – Automation & Robotics

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development of technical and commercial proposals, including scope definition, solution design, and pricing
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and production teams to develop solutions aligned with customer requirements
• Work with sales teams to understand customer needs and support proposal development
• Present and communicate proposed solutions to customers and internal stakeholders
• Support the full sales lifecycle from initial engagement through proposal submission
• Travel to customer sites as needed to support sales efforts and proposal development
• Identify potential opportunities for new markets, customers, and solution offerings

Qualifications

• Ability to evaluate complex technical requirements and shape solutions that align with customer business objectives
• Experience creating and presenting sales proposals
• Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Personable and outgoing; comfortable speaking in front of groups of people
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, structured proposals and customer-facing materials
• Willingness to travel up to 30% and ability to obtain a valid US passport

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience
• 5–8+ years of experience in a technical, customer-facing, or sales engineering role
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, industrial automation, or advanced manufacturing environments preferred
• Related experience may include: Automated systems such as machine tools, robotic cells, assembly fixtures, jigs, or tooling
• Factory automation, assembly systems, or machine manufacturing
• Manufacturing applications with composite materials (thermoset or thermoplastic)
• Experience developing or supporting technical proposals, quotations, or customer solutions is strongly preferred
