About the role
We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our busy service team, providing field service, technical support, software support, and operator training to customers in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical research industries. This role involves primarily UK travel, with significant European and worldwide travel. When not travelling, you will be based in our Sheffield office. This position is ideal for someone seeking a career in scientific field service, including those transitioning from laboratory work to a Field Service Engineer role. It offers the opportunity to work with a customer-focused company supporting several niche product lines.
Responsibilities
- Installation and operator training on instruments and software at customer sites
- Preventative maintenance
- Qualifications (IQ/OQ/RQ)
- Diagnosis and repair of systems
- Remote support for customers and distributors
- Efficient management of schedule and workload
- Effective communication with customers and colleagues
- Assist with product demonstrations as needed
- Preparation and submission of service reports to customers

Requirements
Essential
- Industry experience working with HPLC or Liquid Scintillation Counting
- Full driving licence
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Highly motivated with strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to providing a high level of customer service
- Able to work independently without supervision in high-pressure environments
- Computer experience and proficiency
Desirable
- Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience of working with radioactivity
