About the role
Gensler is a global design firm that designs for people. We leverage our global perspective and local presence to innovate at every scale. We are not just designers; we are tinkerers, craftspeople, visionaries, innovators, and thought leaders.
Responsibilities
- Combine creativity and technical knowledge to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients.
- Develop architectural solutions from conceptual level through construction documentation.
- Create compelling graphics and renderings that effectively communicate design intent, leveraging AI-assisted rendering tools (including FLUX-based and diffusion model workflows via RunDiffusion) to accelerate iteration speed and expand the range of options presented to clients.
- Analyze and refine design ideas through sketches, 3D models, and iterations based on initial concepts; use AI-assisted workflows to generate, evaluate, and compress iteration cycles without sacrificing design judgment.
- Collaborate with a Project Architect (PA) to develop detailed drawing sets and technical documents.
- Direct preparation of conceptual designs, space plans, presentations, and design development.
- Lead coordination with the Design/Technical team and Project/Design Manager(s).
- Lead coordination with client team, project manager, construction manager and others to develop design deliverables and freehand sketches.
- Review and manage project programs and design deliverables.
- Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions.
- Drive project sustainability targets throughout project phases and actively engage in delivering them.
- Coordinate sustainability targets with project consultants and engineers.
- Implement sustainable design strategies in every project stage and investigate solutions to sustainable design challenges.
- Optimize sustainability performance through design iterations and research.
- Lead climate-focused analysis and studies for each project.
- Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture or related field from an accredited school.
- 2-5 years of architectural project experience (core and shell).
- Proficiency in Rhino, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp, Unreal, Stable Diffusion and FLUX-based generative AI workflows (via RunDiffusion or equivalent enterprise platform), Grasshopper, Climate Studio, and your pen highly preferred; AI tool experience must be demonstrated in submitted portfolio, not listed as awareness only.
- Outstanding graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas.
- Demonstrated AI fluency in an architectural workflow: portfolio must include at least one project where AI-assisted visualization, massing study, or design iteration played a documented role.
- Show the prompt, the output, and the judgment applied to it.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices.
- Ability to learn, collaborate, and solve complex problems.
