About the role

We're looking for someone to own the delivery of complex software projects end-to-end: managing the client, leading the internal team, and making sure the work ships on time, on scope, and at the quality bar Airdev is known for. The applications we build often involve multiple user types, intricate business logic, and dozens of interconnected features. You'll need enough technical fluency to follow architecture conversations and know when something technical isn't adding up. You don't need to be able to build it yourself. You'll work closely with Product Directors (who own product strategy and architecture) and Account Directors (who own the client relationship), while you own the execution.

What you’ll do

  • Lead client relationship during the build. Run weekly calls, set expectations, deliver tough updates, and push back when scope creeps or priorities drift. Clients should leave every meeting clearer on where things stand and more confident in the team.
  • Drive the internal team to deliver. Sequence work, unblock developers, escalate when needed, and hold people accountable for what they committed to.
  • Keep all the stakeholders aligned. Clients, product directors, account directors, developers, designers, each project has many people pulling in slightly different directions. You make sure everyone has the same picture of what's happening and what's next.
  • Own project outcomes. Track timeline, scope, and quality across multiple concurrent projects. Surface tradeoffs and execution risk early and decide how and when to communicate with the team and clients.
  • Keep documentation tight. Status, decisions, and open items should be findable and current at any moment. Things we look for

Things we look for

  • 3+ years running software projects in an agency, consultancy, or similar client facing environment. You've shipped real products with real clients and you've handled the hard parts: scope disputes, missed deadlines, difficult stakeholders, team conflicts.
  • You lead, you don't just coordinate. You're comfortable being the senior voice in the room, telling a client they're wrong, telling a developer to redo something, and making a call when no one else will.
  • Exceptional client communication. You can explain technical decisions in plain language, manage expectations without overpromising, and hold the line on scope while keeping the relationship strong.
  • Spot problems early and address them. You don't wait for a missed deadline to flag risk; you raise it the moment you see it, with a proposed path forward.
  • Manage complexity without losing the thread. Multiple projects, many stakeholders, dozens of moving pieces, you keep it all straight and know what matters most at any given moment.
  • Strong organizational instincts. You build systems to track work and follow through relentlessly.
  • Enough technical fluency to be credible. You understand databases, APIs, and how software fits together well enough to follow architecture discussions and push back when something doesn't make sense. You don't need to code.
  • Bias toward action. You'd rather move and adjust than wait for perfect information.
