Technical Accounting Manager
About the role
The Technical Accounting Manager role involves collaborating with innovative 3Mers around the world, providing counsel on US GAAP technical accounting matters, and advising on mergers and acquisitions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and finance leaders on accounting implications of potential strategies, unusual transactions, and events.
- Monitor activities of accounting standard setting bodies and coordinate communication and implementation across 3M.
- Advise on mergers and acquisitions, purchase accounting, and other matters, including legal matters, restructurings, tax, and treasury.
- Participate in the design and implementation of training for finance and other areas.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance (completed and verified prior to start).
- Seven (7) years of finance or accounting experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
- Licensed, active CPA or CMA.
- Technical knowledge of US GAAP.
- Big four (4) public accounting or accounting advisory experience.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Self-motivator with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Team player with the ability to work with a variety of internal and external clients in a consultative role and maintain productive relationships.

Pay & Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $164,612 - $201,193, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. Details are available at this link.
Work Location
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN. Travel may include up to 10% domestic/international.
