Tech (Sort Sys) & Sr. Tech (Sort Sys)

About the Role

Maintains and repairs all package sorting and container handling equipment; maintains all electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems in accordance with established FedEx maintenance procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Good working knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and procedures.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver heavy sort-related components, parts, and equipment with appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
• Good interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to access equipment by crawling, laying, standing, and/or climbing at all heights both above and below ground level.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be willing to work odd work weeks, overtime, holidays, and rotating shifts.
• Non-covered safety-sensitive position; ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Qualifications

Sr Tech/Sort Sys (M0032)

• High school diploma or GED.
• Four (4) years of experience, of which 24 months must be as a FedEx sort systems technician, or 24 months of maintenance on similar equipment/systems as a commercial/industrial maintenance technician with a background in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and materials handling systems maintenance.

Tech (Sort Sys) (M0033)

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of the FedEx Maintenance Trainee Program or two (2) years of technical experience required (preferred experience: Industrial Maintenance Technician). Other maintenance, military, mechanic, or related trade experience with a background in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and materials handling systems maintenance will be considered.

Pay

• Sr Tech/Sort Sys: $33.00/hour
• Tech (Sort Sys): $28.62/hour

Schedule

Full-time, onsite position located in Indianapolis, IN.

• 1st shift (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM), Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday or
• Sunday through Wednesday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
