Sr Tech/Sort Sys

Maintains and repairs all package sorting and container handling equipment in the Memphis hub and field stations, including electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems in accordance with established FedEx maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair package sorting and container handling equipment.
• Maintain electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Perform maintenance tasks in accordance with FedEx procedures.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver heavy components with appropriate equipment or assistance.
• Access equipment by crawling, laying, standing, and climbing at various heights.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six (6) years of experience, including 24 months as a FedEx sort systems technician or 24 months of maintenance on similar equipment/systems as a commercial/industrial maintenance technician.
• Good working knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and procedures.
• Good interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain an industrial maintenance electrician (limited) license.
• Willingness to work odd work weeks, overtime, holidays, and rotating shifts.
• Non-covered safety-sensitive position; ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safely.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and materials handling systems maintenance.

Pay

US Pay Range: $31.24–$36.175 per hour. This range reflects the current starting salary for this role across potential locations. Actual starting pay is determined by experience, market level, and other job-related factors. Eligible employees may receive additional pay, premiums, or bonuses.
