Sr Tech/Sort Sys

Ontario, CA (ONT) location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx location five days a week.

About the role

Maintains and repairs all package sorting and container handling equipment; maintains all electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems in accordance with established FedEx maintenance procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Maintain electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Four (4) years of experience, including 24 months as a FedEx sort systems technician or 24 months of maintenance on similar equipment/systems as a commercial/industrial maintenance technician with a background in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and materials handling systems maintenance.
• Good working knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and procedures.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and maneuver heavy sort-related components, parts, and equipment with appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
• Good interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to access equipment by crawling, laying, standing, and/or climbing at all heights, both above and below ground level.
• Willingness to work odd work weeks, overtime, holidays, and rotating shifts.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Non-covered safety-sensitive position; ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Pay

This compensation range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role: $33.00 - $43.41 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by experience, market level, pay at the location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
