Role Purpose

Biomedical Technician conducts performance assurance inspections, installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of medical instrumentation, devices, and systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and performs preventive maintenance, performance assurance testing, electrical safety inspections, and schedules repairs to correct failed equipment.
• Repairs and calibrates equipment and devices to bring them up to the original manufacturer’s specifications.
• Provides in-service education and customer service to staff on equipment operation and safety.
• Conducts troubleshooting to identify symptoms, define problems, compare options, implement solutions, and evaluate results.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of Biomed experience
• Associate's Degree in Biomed Engineering Technology preferred
• 5-10 years of supervisor experience preferred
• Licenses and certifications may be required depending on the specific equipment being worked on

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with Biomed Engineering Technology
• 2-5 years of supervisor experience
• Education in Biomed Engineering Technology preferred
