Bio Med Tech II
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of biomedical equipment using manufacturer documentation, schematics, and testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
- Utilize work order and equipment management systems to maintain accurate inventory and documentation of preventive maintenance tasks, repairs, and equipment status.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including The Joint Commission (TJC), CMS, and other healthcare accreditation agencies.
- Communicate and collaborate across departments and leadership within the Marshall Health Network regarding Clinical Engineering activities, timelines, and equipment status.
- Support the systemwide deployment of new biomedical devices and technology platforms.
- Maintain both hospital-owned and leased biomedical equipment in a safe, functional, and regulatory-compliant condition.
- Work independently and effectively manage time, workload, and technical priorities across multiple facilities.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in a biomedical equipment technician role. Must have knowledge of medical device operation and maintenance, including understanding of electrical principles and troubleshooting techniques. Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Must be certified by a recognized organization such as the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) or the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
Skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environments.
