Role Purpose

Biomedical Technician conducts performance assurance inspections, installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of medical instrumentation, devices, and systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and performs preventive maintenance, performance assurance testing, electrical safety inspections, and schedules repairs to correct failed equipment.
• Repairs and calibrates equipment and devices to bring them up to the original manufacturer’s specifications.
• Provides in-service education and customer service to staff on equipment operation and safety.
• Conducts troubleshooting to identify symptoms, define problems, compare options, implement solutions, and evaluate results.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of experience in biomedical technician roles
• Associate's Degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology (preferred)
• Experience with medical instrumentation and devices
• Licenses and certifications may be preferred but not required

Preferred Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology
• 5-10 years of experience in biomedical technician roles
• Experience with advanced medical instrumentation and devices
• Supervisor experience (preferred)
