About the role
Leads employees in complex sort, warehouse, ramp and/or yard functions in the proper handling of packages/freight, accuracy/completeness of necessary paperwork and proper methods are followed; thereby, ensuring effective operations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
High School Diploma/G.E.D.
Minimum Experience
Six (6) months FedEx handler experience which preferably includes 3 months work experience in work area which has the open position.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to successfully complete basic and re-currency training
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
- Good human relations and communication skills
- Ability to coach and train employees during sort operations
- Ability to prioritize assignments and make quick decisions with available information
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and delegate responsibilities in a time sensitive manner in noisy operations environment
- Good understanding of FedEx systems and operations
