Team Leader, CNC Machining

About the role

As a Team Leader, CNC Machining you will be responsible for directing and flowing component orders through assigned work centers to meet defined delivery dates. You will determine equipment and people resources required to meet production requirements and assign/direct resources as needed to meet delivery deadlines. You must know the status of each order within your assigned area and assess machinists’ training needs within your work center’s scope.

Responsibilities

• Interpret technical prints and provide part quotations from technical drawings, including estimated program, set-up, cycle labor, material size, and machine used.
• Apply expert knowledge of CNC machine G&M codes and troubleshooting skills to identify and edit program improvements.
• Direct and coach team members on order output, timeliness, and quality; assign work orders.
• Utilize team members effectively to complete repair orders promptly and to the highest quality standards.
• Assess team members’ skills to determine training requirements; train new and existing machinists as needed and contribute to performance evaluations.
• Determine equipment to be used in the manufacturing of parts, create programming, complete machine setup, CNC setup, and operate the machine.
• Evaluate job setup, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective action as necessary to produce component parts to drawing specifications.

Requirements

• High school graduate/GED.
• Knowledge of MS Office applications including Word and Excel.
• Ability to diligently run multi-axis and multi-tasking programs.
• Proficiency with typical precision measurement tools such as dial indicators, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other common inspection tools.
• Basic knowledge of cutting tools, as well as speeds and feeds for each, regardless of material type.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Desire to work collaboratively across several teams as needed to complete projects requiring multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical degree with 5 years of machining experience, or
• 8 or more years of machining experience in lieu of a degree.

Pay

The pay range for this opportunity is $28 – $35.00 per hour. This position is eligible for bonus participation. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums if higher than the listed range. Pay rates are based on factors including local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, and foreign language fluency.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday, 5:00 am – 3:30 pm.
