Team Lead: CNC Mill

About the role

The Team Lead is responsible for leading daily operations of the department; ensuring team members are successful and supporting production flow with high quality parts. This role is hands-on, working with complex parts and process development while leading the team with training, scheduling, and more.

Responsibilities

• Directs a group of employees. Responsible for departmental supervision.
• Sets up, programs and runs new jobs.
• Trains others within the group.
• Responsible for quality, quantity and safety of the group.
• Liaison between customer/purchasing/engineering and outside groups.
• Responsible for departmental scheduling.
• Aid in the development and implementation of quality programs.
• Responsible for work in process/inventory control.
• May assist with performance reviews.
• Keeps accurate records.
• Ensures work areas are kept clean.

Requirements

• Team lead or supervisory experience is required, preferably in a small team environment
• Embolies leadership attributes including empathy, selflessness, authenticity, decisiveness, and accountability
• Strong communication skills
• Experience training others in finishing techniques/processes
• Preferred experience in lean manufacturing and process improvement
• CNC machining experience is required, preferably in the aerospace industry, working with metal and tight tolerances
• Setup, program, and run machining jobs including new or complex parts.
• Strong understanding of prints, GD&T, and quality requirements (AS9100 or ISO experience preferred)
• Knowledge of or experience with CAD/CAM is preferred but not required.
