Responsibilities
- Plan work schedules for several employees within your area of responsibility and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Direct and coordinate activities of line or cell team members.
- Instruct and train team members in standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Observe machinery operation to detect malfunctions and report problems to maintenance for repair.
- Promote 5S compliance by ensuring all work areas are clean, orderly, and labeled.
- Document employee reports and prepare necessary paperwork, including accident reports.
- Complete production reports as required.
- Provide feedback on team member performance/non-performance to the Department/Area Supervisor.
- Support and participate in Morgan Olson’s PPS team efforts.
- Adhere to Quality policy by exceeding customer expectations and supporting continuous improvement activities.
- Adhere to Safety policies and practice behavioral-based safety 100% of the time.
- Perform other duties as required.
Physical Requirements
- Extensive standing, stooping, bending, lifting, reaching, twisting, and turning to assemble parts.
- Lifting fabricated parts and assemblies weighing from several pounds to 50 pounds; parts over 50 pounds are handled with a hoist or assistance from another team member.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required: safety shoes and safety glasses with side shields. Additional PPE such as hearing protection, gloves, safety goggles, or respirators may be required depending on the task and department.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience managing production processes, preferably in line assembly.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Thorough understanding of lean manufacturing and team concepts.
- Good problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
- Computer literate.
