Fabrication Group Leader

About the role

The Fabrication Group Leader at Avalign plays a crucial role in guiding and training operators in the fabrication department. They ensure that all products meet high quality standards while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, part numbers, operations sheets, and other pertinent information to determine appropriate operations and quality of parts.
• Coordinate production to meet schedules and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, focusing on safety, quality, and equipment maintenance.
• Oversee and maintain proper machine care, reporting malfunctions or issues to management and ensuring clean, orderly, and safe work areas.
• Perform periodic inspections of parts to maintain visual and dimensional quality standards.
• Use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and squares to ensure quality control.
• Work closely with supervisors to foster teamwork, correct errors, comply with policies, and prioritize safety and quality.
• Provide guidance, training, and development for employees, plan, assign, and direct work, and assist in interviewing, hiring, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, and resolving conflicts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Three or more years of fabrication experience
• College degree and prior leadership/supervisory experience preferred
