Primary Responsibilities

  • Exhibits high level of technical skill and functions as resource for other clinical support members
  • Performs mainly as a Medical Assistant with additional leadership responsibilities. This may include assisting clinicians with routine clinical procedures and tests in the exam room, advises patients of preparation and testing required for exams, performing vital signs
  • Evaluates daily schedules and helps ensures appropriate coverage in the event of an unplanned absence. May need to have knowledge of and provide support for other departments when filling in as needed
  • Implements operational procedures in accordance with established guidelines. May make minor modifications to standard procedures
  • Directs support to staff to assure departmental effectiveness and efficiency. Guides staff understanding of current workflow and ensures workflow are implemented correctly. Suggests changes in standard work when there is an observed need
  • Provides input into performance reviews
  • Makes sure patient inquiries, problems and complaints are addressed. Refers complex issues to appropriate resources
  • Oversees routine data and information flow for the unit and notifies supervisor of any deviations
  • May assist in orientation of new providers, including telephone use, appointments and medical records system
  • Makes sure data is collected for use in the management decision-making process. Completes standard reports required for the management of the unit
  • Makes sure assigned areas and exam rooms are monitored. Informs supervisor if these do not conform to state and local health standards
  • May coordinate with supervisor to purchase supplies and equipment and maintain adequate inventory. May work with Building Services and Purchasing to secure supplies and equipment necessary to operations
  • May act as supervisor in absence of actual supervisor
  • Orients and trains staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Required Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit
    • 2+ years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting facility
    • In depth knowledge of internal medicine
    • Ability to use all electronic tools and applications relevant to the performance of the duties of the position, including but not limited to phone, keyboard, computer and computer applications

    Preferred Qualifications

    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Certified Medical Assistant
    • Demonstrated sound judgment with the ability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
    • Proven solid interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and medical professionals
    • Demonstrated leadership potential

      Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).

      The hourly pay for this role will range from $18.00 - $32.00 per hour based on full-time employment.
