Team Lead-Histology, Tissue Morphology

About the role

The Histology Team Lead coordinates work schedules, supervises laboratory personnel, ensures proper record-keeping, quality control documentation, workload records, and serves as a technical resource for staff and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Produces high-quality microscopic slides of tissues received in surgical pathology while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Processes specimens for diagnostic and research purposes.
• Identifies tissue structure and cell components for use in diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of diseases.
• Assists in researching and developing new procedures and techniques for diagnostic purposes.
• Maintains laboratory records as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Histology or a related field required.
• 5 years of histology experience within the last ten years required.
• Certification through ASCP (or equivalent) required.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead a multifaceted histology laboratory.
• Overall skills to provide technical and leadership support.
• Proficiency in computer entry/retrieval of lab results.
• Ability to utilize and perform routine maintenance on specialized equipment.
