Responsibilities

• Knows and selects appropriate ultrasound equipment for echocardiogram procedures
• Maintains sound waves for quality of ultrasonic patterns and documents on appropriate media
• Consults with physicians as required regarding collection of test data and critical test results
• Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly, inspects equipment daily, reports malfunctions
• Collaborates effectively with other members of the healthcare team concerning pertinent patient information and interventions needed
• Performs quality tests for equipment, procedures, and other technologists
• Strives to improve the quality of echo studies by staff training and education
• Performs chart audits, statistics, quality, and other duties assigned

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED, Registry by CCI or ARDMS preferred
• BLS certified
• Experience: 2+ years of experience
