Overview
The Learning Center at Compass Pointe specializes in golf instruction. Since its launch in March of 2019, it has risen fast and become an award-winning player development program, and we are now recognized as a Top 50 Operation 36 Master location. We are seeking a passionate and dynamic coach to fill this role; you will grow the game of golf to our members and guests through providing a positive learning experience and actively market and promote our brand.
Reporting Structure
The Teaching Professional reports to the Director of Instruction and General Manager.
Compensation
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Essential Requirements
- Experienced golf instructor
- 3+ years coaching
- High school graduate
- Affiliated with either LPGA or PGA programs preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, combined with hard work ethic
- Able to stand and lift outdoors for long periods of time
- Above average time management/has initiative and multi-tasking skills
Responsibilities
- To assist director of Instruction with coach development, recruiting processes for coaches and admin staff as needed.
- Participate in team building events on and away from golf course.
- Teach group lessons to adults and juniors as assigned.
- Custom fit clubs to all levels of students.
- Self-motivated, driven to manage and build your private lesson portfolio.
- Work on own initiative to build up client base for coaching by implementing structured supervised practice sessions, walking the range, and playing with students’ members and guests.
- Assist the DOI with operations management where needed.
- Experienced computer skills, Outlook, word, Excel, can send effective clear email communications.
- Assist DOI with leadership of councilors and part-time coaches to accomplish various tasks.
- To contribute to the preparation of coaching development plans, sales and marketing plans and operational strategies where necessary.
- Complete various tracking and record keeping paperwork related to Learning Center sales.
- To maintain a clean and presentable office and teaching space.
- Coaching and club fitting equipment is accessible, available, and accounted for.
- To participate in the ongoing sales and marketing promotions.
- To attend continuing education opportunities and maintain playing standards.
- To assist in maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring that Health and Safety procedures comply with up-to-date state legislation, and Anne Arundel County guidelines.
