Responsibilities

• Assist educators in preparing students for a successful re-entry into the public school system by providing in-classroom support and serving as a substitute teacher when necessary
• Establish responsive, engaging, and flexible expectations for student behavior and academic performance, empowering teachers to tailor their approaches to meet the individual needs of each student
• Support the implementation of a responsive and engaging curriculum that caters to individual student requirements by offering unique programs of study for both core and elective courses
• Promote consistent classroom practices and foster a positive environment to help students enhance their academic abilities and boost their self-esteem
• Work collaboratively with various agency departments to advocate for student interests and needs
• Actively participate in the development of strategies that enhance trauma sensitivity within the educational environment
• Provide multiple pathways for students to engage with content and demonstrate their successes
• Cultivate strong, supportive relationships with students within a trauma-sensitive framework to promote their overall well-being and academic success

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Substitute Teacher Permit through the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board
• Sincere interest in serving youth through trauma-sensitive education & pedagogy
• Clean background and child abuse registry checks
• Strong written communication skills with a proven interpersonal, organizational, time-management, oral communication, and teamwork background
• Experience and application in various MS Office and agency-specific technologies or equipment
• Driving record of no more than two moving violations or at-fault accidents in any combination in the past three years and no major moving violations within the past three years
