TEACHER (HIGH SCHOOL-PHYSICAL EDUCATION) (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY)
About the role
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Academic Instruction and indirect supervision of the Supervisor of Correctional Education Programs, incumbents help people committed to State correctional facilities prepare to become productive and contributing members of society by training them in physical education subjects and by helping them to develop socially acceptable attitudes and interests.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the conduct of students while in the classroom.
- Assume general custody responsibilities in time of emergency.
Requirements
Required to maintain a valid teaching credential recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Qualifications
Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires that each full-time employee receive a three (3) percent reduction in pay in exchange for five (5) hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027.
Skills
Knowledge of physical education subjects and ability to develop socially acceptable attitudes and interests in students.
