TEACHER (HIGH SCHOOL-GENERAL EDUCATION) (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY)

To obtain list eligibility for this classification, you must first take and pass the Teacher (High School-General Education), CF Exam. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.

Limited term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent. Travel may be required. Occasional overtime may be required.

Calipatria State Prison is located in sunny southern California, approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes south of Palm Springs and 2 hours and 20 minutes east of San Diego. Free parking is available.

Requirements

• Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
• If meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, unofficial transcripts/diploma must be included for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment.
• Applicants with foreign degrees/transcripts must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency from a NACES member organization.
• Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice must submit to a background investigation, including Live Scan Fingerprinting and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment, followed by annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
• Do not include confidential information (e.g., Social Security Number, birthdate, student ID, driver’s license number unless required, examination results, LEAP status, marital status, age) on application documents.

Pay

$6,387.52 - $12,847.82 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
