TEACHER (HIGH SCHOOL-GENERAL EDUCATION) (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY)

This position is located at California State Prison, Solano in Vacaville, Solano County. Main communication for this role will be through email.

About the Role

The teacher is responsible for maintaining direct student contact to meet learning needs and facilitate group activities. All efforts should be made to maximize instructional time, ensuring teaching and learning occur from the beginning to the end of each class.

Responsibilities

• Maintain direct student contact based on learning needs and group activities.
• Maximize instructional time to ensure continuous teaching and learning.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within the department, other governmental agencies, healthcare partners, and communities.

Requirements

• Possession of minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If meeting qualifications through education, unofficial transcripts/diploma must be provided for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment.
• Candidates with foreign degrees/transcripts must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency from a NACES-approved credential evaluation service.
• New hires must submit to a background investigation, including Live Scan fingerprinting, and a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, with annual testing thereafter.
• Do not include confidential information (e.g., Social Security Number, birthdate, student ID, driver’s license number unless required) on application documents.
