TEACHER (HIGH SCHOOL-GENERAL EDUCATION) (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY)

About the role

This position is located at California Health Care Facility in Stockton, San Joaquin County. The role is office-centered with in-person attendance. Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) applies, requiring a 3% reduction in pay in exchange for five hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must be in possession of a valid California Teaching Credential issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing in one of the following:

• Single Subject Credential
• Multiple Subject Credential
• Standard Secondary Credential with a major or minor in an academic subject area
• General Secondary Credential

Special Requirements

• Candidates must submit unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification if meeting minimum qualifications with education.
• Foreign education credentials must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency through a NACES member service.
• New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
• Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS must submit to Live Scan Fingerprinting and a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by annual testing thereafter.
