About the role

Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lesson plans, instruct students, evaluate and monitor students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning. ELD teacher duties may also include AZELLA testing and other ADE compliance requirements for English Learners and other PHLOTE students.

Requirements

  • Arizona Elementary Certificate K-8 AND Arizona SEI (Structured English Immersion) Endorsement OR Spanish-Bilingual endorsement OR ESL Endorsement
  • Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
  • Valid Driver’s license (Arizona Driver’s License required within 30 days of hire)
  • MVReport – showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees
  • Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of insurance compliance greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
  • Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement
  • Ability to work with students of varying levels of language proficiency at 2-3 different sites as an itinerant teacher

Schedule

  • FTE: 1.0, 7.5 hours per day
  • Work Calendar: 9.5 month
  • Grade Levels: K-5
  • Effective: 2026-2027 school year
  • Location: Language Acquisition - 1010 E 10th Street

Pay

For more information on the salary schedule, please reference the Employee Agreements Webpage. Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position. Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language. Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.

Benefits

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
