About the role
The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) is seeking an Insurance Specialist II to perform routine journey level insurance work. This includes reviewing license applications and renewals, maintaining contact with applicants, analyzing legal documents, and assisting other teams as needed.
Responsibilities
- Reviews license applications and renewals, ensuring compliance with the Texas Insurance Code and other applicable laws.
- Maintains contact with applicants to gather necessary information and adhere to strict timelines.
- Analyzes legal documents and prepares memoranda for management and enforcement actions.
- Determines appropriate action for notifications of misconduct from current licensees.
- Cross-trains and assists other teams as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 60 college hours.
- One year of experience in insurance work.
- Regular work attendance.
- Travel may be required for up to 5% of the time.
Qualifications
- Eligible to apply for access to the Texas Criminal Justice Information system.
- Must be eligible for a state of Texas Driver's License if travel is 10% or over.
Skills
- Knowledge of Agent and Adjuster Licensing processes and procedures.
- Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
