Responsibilities

  • Supervise the work of others on a unit with routine contact with incarcerated individuals.
  • Prepare and assign documents for intake processing.
  • Ensure all staff members complete their job duties in a timely manner, following policy and procedures.
  • Ensure all processing is completed on time to comply with audit guidelines.
  • Communicate ideas and instructions clearly.
  • Coordinate effectively with staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public.
  • Interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide training for staff members when changes are made to the Intake manual.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of full-time, wage-earning experience in customer service, clerical, administrative support, technical program support, or criminal justice. Additional qualifying experience can count toward college credit on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must obtain a certificate of course completion for the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS) policy and procedures training from the Texas Department of Public Safety within six months of employment.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft programs (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Detail-oriented with strong work ethics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supervising employees.
  • Work experience in intake, classification, or criminal justice.
  • Strong typing skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft programs.

Additional Information

  • No travel required; position may involve day trips but no overnight stays.
  • Work site visits are required.
  • Position is classified as hazardous duty.
  • Outside applicants will be required to submit to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment.
