TDCJ - Program Supervisor I - Intake Coordinator

About the role

This position works on a unit with routine contact with incarcerated individuals. Day-to-day functions include supervising the work of others and preparing and assigning documents for intake processing. The role ensures that all staff members complete their job duties in a timely manner, following policy and procedures, and that all processing is completed in a timely manner to stay on task with audit guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the work of others

• Ensure staff complete job duties in a timely manner per policy and procedures
• Ensure processing is completed in a timely manner to meet audit guidelines
• Provide training for all staff members when changes are made to the Intake manual

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Two years of full-time experience in customer service, clerical, administrative support, technical program support, or criminal justice (additional qualifying experience may count toward college credit on a year-for-year basis)
• General knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
• Willingness and ability to obtain the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS) policy and procedures training certificate within six months of employment

Qualifications

• Experience supervising employees
• Experience in intake, classification, or criminal justice
• Ability to communicate ideas and instructions clearly
• Ability to coordinate effectively with staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public
• Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policy, and procedures
• Strong typing skills and knowledge of Microsoft programs
