TDCJ - Counsel Substitute II

Responsibilities
- Performs work as a representative and advocate of inmates in a correctional facility.
- Performs technical work for the inmate disciplinary process, including coordinating with other staff, case management, application of policies and procedures.
- Notifies and interviews inmates charged with violations of agency, facility, or unit rules and regulations.
- Analyzes inmates' positions, develops strategies of defense, and advises inmates of alternate plans of action.
- Assists in maintaining security of inmates.
- Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.

- Pre-Service Training Academy: Required
- Hazardous Duty/Longevity Position: Hazardous
- Travel: None - Position may make day trips, but no overnight trips.
