TDCJ - Counsel Substitute II

About the role

Performs technical work for the inmate disciplinary process, to include coordination with staff, case management, application of policies and procedures, docket schedules, and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Notifies and interviews inmates charged with violations of agency, facility, or unit rules and regulations
• Analyze inmates' positions, develop strategies of defense, and advis inmates of alternative plans of action
• Represent inmates at disciplinary hearings
• Assist in maintaining security of inmates
