Tax Manager - Construction
About the role
The successful candidate will lead the tax team, providing tax preparation and technical review services for complex closely held businesses in the construction industry. They will also advise, research, and identify tax issues, and recommend solutions to complex customer issues.
Responsibilities
- Leading the tax team
- Advising, researching, and identifying tax issues
- Recommending solutions to complex customer issues
- Delegating and managing tax assignments
- Performing administrative duties
- Training, supporting, supervising, motivating, and reviewing the work of the tax team
- Developing and sustaining excellent customer relationships
- Anticipating and consulting on various tax matters
- Maintaining progress of engagements, including billing and collections
- Collaborating cross-functionally within the firm to grow existing business and offer a variety of business solutions to customers and prospects
- Holding oneself and others accountable for business development goals
- Recruiting, developing, and motivating team members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law; Master’s degree in Tax/LLM in Tax, preferred
- 5+ years of recent public accounting firm experience working with construction and closely held businesses, including managing multiple projects and customer engagements
- EALicense, or CPA certification required
- Project/team management skills
- Excellent communication and networking acumen
- Strong experience with corporate tax accounting
- Experience with tax software and technology
- Ability to multitask
- Demonstration of commitment to continuous learning
