Tax Credit Senior Counsel

About the role

The ideal candidate will have experience with real estate finance and New Markets Tax Credits.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for maximizing tax credits and other incentives for clients' projects.
• Assist clients in navigating complex tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Work closely with clients to understand their financial needs and goals, and develop tailored solutions.
• Prepare and review tax documents and reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to tax laws.
• Provide legal advice and guidance on tax-related matters, including structuring transactions and negotiating deals.
• Collaborate with other departments within the firm to ensure seamless service delivery to clients.

Requirements

• At least eight years of tax credit experience.
• Active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which you are applying or commitment to obtain one as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

• Proficiency in tax law and regulations.
• Experience with real estate finance.
• Knowledge of New Markets Tax Credits.

Pay

Pursuant to applicable state laws, the compensation range for this position in California, Colorado, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington, D.C. is $160,000 - $250,000 and in Illinois and Minnesota is $130,000 - $250,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salaries in all other markets will vary depending on market data.
