Tax Analyst (Hybrid)

About the role

This position has responsibility for compliance with tax laws and/or implementing tax planning strategies. The incumbent will operate with a reasonable degree of autonomy in their discharge of duties performing, organizing, supervising, and controlling tax processes and work product.

As an Analyst, you will help implement solutions by reviewing data, determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators, and partners. You will assist with the business case, organizing requirements, translating and simplifying requirements, and conducting requirements analysis. Analysts may also use requirements to drive the design or review of test cases, process change requests, and manage a project's scope, acceptance, installation, and deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complicated tax research and data analysis to identify and implement tax planning strategies.
  • Review significant tax elements of GAAP and Statutory accounting and ensure adherence to tax accounting policy.
  • Manage a significant process, project, or process improvements within the Tax Department and ensure timely, accurate, and complete performance.
  • Regularly participate in day-to-day interaction with external parties including but not limited to IRS, external auditors, regulatory bodies, and vendors.
  • Manage external resources including consulting and outsourcing engagements and will indirectly manage others within tax.
  • Identify potential control weaknesses and take action to remedy.
  • Lead tax integration efforts for specific subject process or matter.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree in Taxation, JD in Taxation, or designation as CPA or CFA.
  • 9 years' experience in a corporate tax department or national public accounting firm, including experience with complex tax technical research and development of tax strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to make good knowledge-based decisions and evaluate situations in the absence of complete information.
  • Proven ability to interact with, advise, and influence peers, senior tax leadership, and external parties.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate technical tax information into understandable and actionable information.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage most conflicts to successful resolution.

Pay

Base Salary Range: $102,400.00 - $153,600.00. Compensation may vary based on job level, geographic work location, position incentive plan, and exemption status. Your position may also be eligible for an annual incentive (bonus) plan.
