The team is part of the Tax department within the Finance and Actuarial organization.

About the role

A unique opportunity exists within the Tax Operations team for a Payroll Tax Analyst to support newly established work related to payroll tax filing and reporting processes managed by an external payroll vendor. Reporting to the Vice President, Process Management, the Tax Analyst will oversee the ADP vendor relationship, including the maintenance, monitoring, and continuous optimization of payroll tax lifecycle business processes. This role works closely with the Tax Operations function to ensure payroll tax processes are executed accurately, timely, and efficiently, in compliance with all applicable tax withholding, remittance, and reporting requirements. The position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who demonstrates strong collaboration skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Work assignments may vary in scope and include project-based initiatives driven by evolving business needs.

The current work arrangement for this position is hybrid, requiring on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business manager.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the daily funding process with ADP Employment Tax and various processes required to ensure the vendor meets all required service levels.
  • Review daily, quarterly, and annual payroll tax-related integration files from Workday to ensure operational processes are compliant.
  • Run various reports from Workday to support data collection, research, and reporting.
  • Support the reconciliation and Year-End W2 balancing process, including the production of tax forms.
  • Support the review of all daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks associated with tax reporting processes to ensure timely completion.
  • Respond to tax notice inquiries, complete research, and correspondence with taxing authorities.
  • Manage and serve as a backup for daily payment processes, including completion of quality reviews and oversight of production job streams/rejects.
  • Support employment tax audits, tax law changes, new tax account setups, and account registrations with tax jurisdictions.
  • Participate in or lead special projects, such as process redesign or process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • BA/BS college degree or 3-5 years of professional work experience required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of payroll tax reporting experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office Tools (e.g., Word, Excel).

Nice to have

  • Knowledge or experience in Workday is a plus.

Pay

Prudential is required by state-specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $70,300.00 to $116,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Market-competitive base salaries, with yearly bonus potential at every level.
