About the role
Provide Tamariki Ora – Well Child health screening, development support, and assessments for pēpē to tamariki from 0 to 5 years old. Visits take place in whānau homes or our community clinic, delivered in a professional and personal way using kaupapa Māori values. You will support new mamas across the Heretaunga and Tamatea (Central Hawke’s Bay) rohe, from rural and coastal communities to main centres.
Responsibilities
- Conduct health screening and developmental assessments for children aged 0–5 years
- Visit whānau in their homes or at the community clinic
- Provide practical advice and strategies to whānau with pēpē
- Write case notes, reports, and manage client caseloads effectively
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate
- Postgraduate Certificate in Primary Health Care Specialty – Well Child/Tamariki Ora strand, or currently studying towards it
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to work autonomously in the community
- Experience working with pēpē and whānau
- Understanding of Te Ao Māori or willingness to learn
- Full, current driver’s licence
- Must be living in Hawke’s Bay and familiar with local communities
- Applicable work visa or residency, and NZ experience in primary care and tamariki development
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
