Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with national talent agencies and agents.
- Maintain positive relationships with radio and media partners for each market.
- Communicate available talent and timely updates on offers to each venue and district leadership.
- Target and acquire specific musical and entertainment acts based on the target demographics for each property.
- Have experience in negotiations and working with artist management and contracts.
- Organize and note all artist contracts, communicate riders with each property, handle all deposits and final balance payments.
- Create show or event budgets. Monitor spending and make sure that event stays in budget.
- Travel to cover road shows, events, festivals and seek new clients, projects and partners. Handle the settlement of shows when necessary.
- Work with managers on potential festival projects. Identify potential third party venue and festival events. Assist on festival and concert projects as assigned by manager.
- Develop creative properties that can be grown into annual events.
- Network and build relationships with agents, artist management, venue managers and other potential clients.
- Maintain current client relationships.
- Travel and afterhours work is required.
Skills
- 3 years previous marketing/PR/promotions experience necessary.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook and SharePoint.
- Ability to be creative and multi-task in a very dynamic, changing, fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet goals and objectives.
- Proactive team player with a positive attitude.
- Strong verbal and written skills / phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Must have an outgoing personality with the ability to build and cultivate relationships.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with an ability to analyze complex documents.
- Able to work independently to perform job, as well as in a team environment.
- Must have established contacts and relationships in the music industry.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Previous experience in the music industry with demonstrated ability to assess current music trends.
Education & Experience
- College Degree, business/marketing/legal/accounting education and experience preferred.
