Systems Engineer Sr - E3
About the Role
At Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, we're taking innovation to the next level. Our engineers live on the cutting edge of technology, designing advanced air vehicles and aircraft that defy gravity. The Skunk Works (Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Program) is seeking world-class talent in Systems Field Engineering to join a team that continues our tradition of making history in advanced aircraft development.
As a System Engineer, you will provide technical services and guidance on installation, upgrades, maintenance, configuration management, and mission operations of Unmanned Air System (UAS) Ground Control Stations (GCS). You will resolve technical problems, troubleshoot products, and modify them to meet customer requirements. Additionally, you will provide training to customers and serve as an integral member of a technical team overseeing complex mission systems during operations.
You will help design, develop, integrate, and test a variety of mission system equipment onto airborne platforms, performing hands-on activities such as building and installing electrical and mechanical components, including cable assemblies, computer systems, and voice/data communication devices. You will organize and manage multiple prototype development areas, use special test equipment for system verification, and contribute to developing systems including System Integration Labs, Deployable Shelters, and Fixed Facilities.
You will work effectively with Hardware Engineering, Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, and Integration/Test teams to create flexible test facilities supporting both development and test efforts. You will lead maintenance, upgrade, and build-up efforts on legacy and new systems, ensuring projects stay on or ahead of schedule and within budget. While traveling, you will support the Hardware Engineering Lead to keep local efforts coordinated and resolve issues as they arise.
